Faux has been around for centuries. For example, take a look at Europe. You will find the Europeans have used paint to create the look of large concrete blocks in their cathedrals, as well as architectural windows, archways and columns. They have done an amazing job of creating shadows within those paintings for an unbelievable three-dimensional view. The country side is full of cottages with faux painted flower boxes, shutters and garden gates all proudly displayed on their exteriors. It is charming, as well as amazing to see the artful fun that paint can bring to any surface.
Color makes a room come alive. Depending on the colors we use, our moods can change from room to room. For example, yellow will make us happy, reds will energize our conversations, while blues will relax and calm us.
Staging - or rearranging- any room is great fun when you have
just a few helpful hints. There are three primary elements to
consider: focus, function and personal comfort. |
